The agreement was initialed by the President of the council of the local authority of Ifrane, Hicham Afifi, and the mayor of Bouaké, in charge of decentralized cooperation, culture and francophonie, Aboubakar Diaby, on the sidelines of UNESCO's 7th International Conference on Adult Education (CONFINTEA VII).
"This partnership agreement is in line with the vision of the two Heads of State, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President Alassane Ouattara, regarding South-South cooperation," Diaby told M24, MAP's 24-hour-rolling news channel.
The signing of this agreement will result in "a convergence and joint action between the two parties", he said.
In similar remarks, Afifi noted that the signing of this partnership agreement "will allow us to establish an institutional framework and share our experience with the city of Bouaké."
This approach is part of the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the promotion of South-South cooperation, he added.
Co-organized by the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and UNESCO, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, CONFINTEA VII brings together stakeholders from around the world to shape the future of adult learning and education in the next decade.
