The 31- and 33-year old suspects were arrested immediately upon their arrival "from a Central African country," said a statement released by National Police (DGSN), revealing that six cocaine wafers weighing 17.7 kilograms were found in their suitcases.

The two suspects were placed in custody at the disposal of the judicial police's investigation aiming to determine this criminal activity's local and international ramifications, adds the same source.

This operation is part of the security services' efforts to strengthen border police's capacity to carry out their surveillance operations and fight against international drug trafficking networks, the statement concludes.
