The meeting is part of a working visit to Morocco by a Swiss delegation of senior officials, businessmen and scientists, whose aim is to learn about the progress made by the Moroccan economy and the economic opportunities offered by the Kingdom.
During the meeting, the two parties examined ways of strengthening their economic relations, as well as prospects for bilateral cooperation in a number of areas, both in terms of trade and investment.
Speaking on this occasion, Mezzour highlighted Morocco's many assets and competitive advantages, as well as the investment opportunities and particularly advantageous offer resulting from the industrial strategy implemented by the Kingdom, which has enabled the emergence of a dynamic local industrial fabric, while conferring on the country its positioning as an international hub.
He pointed out that Morocco has a competitive industrial base in which international leaders have found a long-term growth driver, as well as the necessary infrastructure and human resources, noting that this is complemented by a favorable business climate, in addition to the opportunities offered to Morocco in buoyant sectors, particularly automotive, aeronautics, textiles, pharmaceuticals and renewable energies.
Mezzour invited Swiss companies seeking to boost their competitiveness and increase their growth and capacity to address new markets, and to take advantage of this dynamic and the many opportunities offered by Morocco as a destination.
Parmelin told the press that relations between the two countries in terms of trade are balanced, which points to economic diversification and complementarity between Switzerland and Morocco, noting the importance of this meeting for the Swiss delegation accompanying him, so that they can better visualize the investment opportunities offered by the Kingdom.
"This meeting also aims to improve the partnerships already existing between Morocco and Switzerland," he said, adding that future meetings and visits would give new impetus to these relations.
The Swiss delegation then visited the premises of the Institute of Aeronautical Professions, set up as part of a public-private partnership to provide tailor-made training to meet the needs of aeronautical operators for qualified resources (technicians and middle managers) and to promote the integration of young people.
The Swiss delegation also paid a visit to Sabca, a company specializing in the manufacture and assembly of aerostructures, where they were able to see for themselves the remarkable progress made by the national aeronautics industry.
In August 2021, the Pilatus and Sabca groups signed a major contract for the near-final assembly of the "pc-12" business jet (best-seller from Swiss aircraft manufacturer PIlATUS) in Casablanca.
