Al Haouz Earthquake: AfDB Impressed by Morocco's 'Effective' Response

Marrakech - The African Development Bank (AfDB) has been impressed by the effective, efficient and rapid response of the Moroccan authorities to the earthquake that struck the country, said the Bank's Resident Representative in Morocco, Achraf Tarsim.

"We were able to go to the disaster areas and see the Kingdom's response capacity, an effective response that saved lives, but also enabled the population to quickly regain a certain quality of life," said Tarsim in an interview with MAP, on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the World Bank Group (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to him, this response is the result of decisive leadership, extraordinary capabilities and a phenomenal outpouring of solidarity from the Moroccan people.
