Stringent border control procedures and meticulous inspections led to the discovery of this hidden quantity of drugs concealed within the trailer of an international cargo truck loaded with agricultural products intended for export to a European port, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). The driver of the truck, who was in the process of heading to a European port, has been arrested.

The detained driver, a 34-year-old Moroccan national, has been taken into custody pending an investigation conducted by the judicial police brigade at the Tanger-Med port, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor. The aim is to determine any potential national and international connections to this criminal activity and apprehend any accomplices, the same source added.

This operation is part of the intensive efforts undertaken by security services to combat international drug and psychotropic substance trafficking, the statement concluded.
