This program reflects the Sovereign's desire to ensure both Morocco's social development and its economic growth, Saint-Prot told MAP news agency.
"This is an important project in that it will require a budget of 25 billion dirhams by 2024, to which must be added 10 billion dirhams allocated annually by the State to extend compulsory health coverage to poor and vulnerable families, for a total of around 40 billion dirhams by 2026," he added.
As part of the ongoing consolidation of the foundations of the social state, added OEG's Managing Director, "the aim is to extend social protection through compulsory health insurance for the most disadvantaged, to complete the legal framework for upgrading the national health system, to continue reforming the education and training system, and to set up a new housing assistance program.”
This initiative reflects the Sovereign's determination to ensure the well-being of His people, by bringing together all the conditions required to improve the daily lives of citizens, particularly the most disadvantaged," he noted.
Recalling the Sovereign's speech to Parliament, in which His Majesty the King emphasized that the Direct Social Assistance Program will, thanks to its direct impact on the targeted families, raise their standard of living and combat poverty and precariousness, he stressed that the Sovereign is firmly convinced that Morocco needs all its sons and daughters.
"Morocco is fortunate to have a thousand-year-old monarchy that sets the course for a genuine social revolution. The Kingdom's strength lies in the indefectible bond between HM the King and the People, as demonstrated by recent national and international events,” concluded Saint-Pro.
