AU PSC: Morocco Calls for Effective Youth Participation in All Efforts Related to Good Governance, Peace and Security in Africa

Addis Ababa - Morocco has called on the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU) in Addis Ababa to ensure the effective and meaningful participation of young people in all efforts to establish good governance, peace and security in Africa.

At a PSC meeting held on Friday via videoconference on the "Youth, Peace and Security" Agenda, the Moroccan delegation stressed the importance of promoting the youth's role through the implementation of concrete continental actions, taking advantage of specialized youth bodies such as the Pan-African Youth Union.

The Moroccan delegation also emphasized the need for a proactive pan-African policy geared towards youth, which channels energy for development and will ultimately contribute to peace and security on the continent.

In this context, the Moroccan delegation underlined Morocco's commitment, in line with the enlightened vision of HM King Mohammed VI, to promoting the place of young people in the dynamics of society and their political participation.
