The campaign is "organized in coordination with the governorate of Al-Quds, as part of the Agency's program to support active categories of farmers in all regions of Al-Quds, despite the difficult circumstances and conditions in Gaza and all the Palestinian territories", the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency said on Saturday.

The farmers benefiting from this operation have been provided with all the materials and other equipment they need to harvest their olives, said the Agency in a statement, noting that this initiative is part of the ongoing efforts of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, under the Al-Quds Committee chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to protect Al-Quds and support its inhabitants.

The project aims to back Palestinian farmers in preserving their land, said the Agency's programs and projects coordinator, Ismail Ramli, quoted in the statement.

The Agency continues to provide its services to the Al Quds inhabitants despite the difficult circumstances in the Palestinian territories, he said.

For his part, deputy governor of Al-Quds, Abdallah Siam, said that "despite the war waged against the Palestinians, the olive harvest as part of the +Aouna+ campaign is considered a national day and symbolizes the Palestinian farmer's attachment to his land, since the olive tree contributes to the preservation of the Palestinian territories".

Siam thanked the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency for its help and assistance to Palestinian farmers.
