In a statement to MAP, on the sidelines of a protest march held on Sunday in Laayoune, El Bihi said that the Saharawi population had come out en masse to condemn this cowardly aggression, which desperately seeks to undermine the peace and security of the city of Es-Semara and the Kingdom's southern provinces in general.
"The inhabitants of the southern provinces denounce these despicable acts and desperate attempts by the polisario and the enemies of our territorial integrity to undermine the peace and stability of the region," stressed El Bihi, noting that the population of the Sahara will remain permanently mobilized behind HM King Mohammed VI to defend Morocco against any aggression or hostile act targeting its national territory.
El Bihi, who is also a member of the regional Human Rights Commission, highlighted the sacrifices, dedication and heroic actions undertaken by the Royal Armed Forces in defense of the Kingdom.
By marching in large numbers today in Laayoune, the inhabitants of the southern provinces are expressing their strong indignation and their firm condemnation of these odious acts which have targeted residential areas of Es-Semara, El Hassan Ayoub, one of the notables of the Sahrawi tribes who took part in the Laayoune march, told MAP.
The inhabitants of the Kingdom's southern provinces are fully aware of the maneuvers being plotted against the country's territorial integrity, and today expressed their indignation at these actions, which will not undermine the efforts being made by Morocco and the international community to reach a definitive solution to the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara within the framework of national sovereignty, he said.
A large march was held in Laayoune to denounce the "despicable terrorist attack" perpetrated against civilians in the city of Es-Semara, the spiritual Capital of the Kingdom's Southern Provinces.
This march, which began from "Oum Saad" square to head towards the famous Al-Mechouar square, crossing the main avenues of the city of Laayoune, brought together several tens of thousands of people, led by the Chioukhs, notables and local elected officials, brandishing the national flag and chanting slogans denouncing in the strongest terms "the despicable terrorist attacks" perpetrated in Es-Semara.
