Border control operations led to the seizure of a truck transporting packages and goods immediately after its arrival on board a ferry, according to a statement by the National Police (DGSN), adding that the seized consignment consisted of 44,250 Rivotril tablets, 110,000 Ecstasy tablets and 19,400 Trankimazin tablets, carefully packed in household appliances.
The driver of the truck, a Moroccan national residing abroad, was subjected to a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, with a view to elucidating the ins and outs of this case and determining the links with illicit drug trafficking networks and circuits.
This action is part of joint operations between the National Police and Customs services at various border posts to combat international drug and psychotropic drug trafficking.
