"In continuity with the actions undertaken by ADM following the earthquake of September 8, the company received experts from the Japanese company Hanshin Expressway, which has over half a century's experience in the management and maintenance of motorways, for a post-earthquake inspection mission of the engineering structures on the Marrakech-Agadir motorway," ADM said in a statement on Friday.
This mission, which is part of a technology transfer partnership between ADM and the Japanese company Hanshin Expressway since 2015, was aimed at confirming the results previously obtained by ADM during the auscultation carried out immediately after the earthquake, as part of its emergency plan, and which concluded that the national motorway infrastructure had not suffered any damage thanks to the effectiveness of its seismic-resistant design, the statement noted.
During this mission, according to the same source, the two partners also discussed the latest techniques used for anti-seismic devices on international motorway infrastructures, particularly those in Japan, where the risk of earthquakes is one of the highest in the world.
At the end of this mission, the Japanese experts reconfirmed the absence of any damage caused by the earthquake to the engineering structures on the Marrakech-Agadir motorway, which highlights the resilience of the national motorway network, designed, built and maintained to the highest international standards, concluded the statement.
