Joint border control operations led to the arrest of a Moroccan citizen upon his arrival from Sebta aboard a foreign-registered vehicle, in flagrante delicto of attempting to smuggle cargoes of cocaine and of psychotropic tablets, said the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release.
A judicial investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office was opened, in order to determine the origin and trafficking routes of these shipments of cocaine and psychotropic tablets, and to identify all the accomplices in this criminal activity.
This operation is part of the strengthening of border control mechanisms and the intensification of efforts deployed by the various security services at border crossings, with a view to combating drug and psychotropic drug trafficking, concluded the press release.
