In a statement to the Maghreb Arab News Agency (MAP), on the sidelines of her participation in the third edition of the conference on Oil, Gas and Power of the Coastal Basin countries (Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Guinea Conakry), which kicked off in the Mauritanian Capital, Benkhadra stated that the Morocco-Nigeria Gas Pipeline project is part of this development perspective, thanks to the enlightened vision of both countries leaders.
Due to the enlightened vision of HM the King to strengthen African cooperation, Morocco will spare no effort to support the energy development in the region within the framework of this project, considered as a lever for regional integration, said Benkhadra.
ONHYM Managing Director explained that this ambitious project will also have a positive impact on energy security, the development of the mining industry, and energy supply in African and European countries.
In addition, Benkhadra highlighted that the Nouakchott conference will allow the ONHYM to acquire knowledge and experience in this field.
Held under the theme '' Expanding Energy Opportunities For New Horizons In Africa’’, the conference brought together energy ministers of several countries, international partners, experts and representatives of cooperation agencies and energy training colleges.
