Answering questions from journalists at a press briefing following the weekly meeting of the Government Council, Baitas stressed that this project represents a "constitutional commitment of the Kingdom on the high instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI", noting that the government is working towards its gradual implementation.
He recalled, in this context, the official launch of projects to strengthen the use of the Amazigh language in public administrations and its integration into various areas of public life.
Baitas noted, in this regard, that the Amazigh language reception service had been set up in several public administrations, through the mobilization of 460 reception agents responsible for advising and guiding Amazigh-speaking users, with the aim of facilitating their access to public services, in addition to the inscription of the Amazigh language on signage within administrations and public facilities.
In addition, a service for receiving telephone calls in the Amazigh language has also been set up in nine call centers belonging to certain ministerial departments and public facilities which are very busy with users, he added, noting the mobilization of 63 agents in charge of telephone communication in the Amazigh language.
The Council of Government approved, on Thursday, two draft decrees setting out the list of paid and unpaid public holidays, as part of the implementation of the High Royal Instructions to declare the Amazigh New Year, i.e. January 14, an official national paid holiday.
