"As an inexhaustible reservoir of new ideas to reinvent our societies, the Moroccan culture-planet is currently driven by a dynamic rich in promises and heralds great prospects for our cultural and artistic scene," emphasized Azoulay as he chose to address the theme of "Arts and Culture invited to the banquet of thought and modernity" for his inaugural speech at the ISADAC's academic year.
"Our cultural heritage, in its uniqueness and the singularity of its DNA nourished by the depth of all our diversities, has allowed us, fortified by the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to give the best chances to agile, innovative, and inclusive communities," Azoulay reiterated, highlighting "the historical and decisive contribution of this heritage in motion" to Morocco's prominence within the Community of Nations.
Throughout a broad retrospective revisiting the pioneering choices made by Essaouira for over 30 years "to place heritage, history, and culture at the heart of its rebirth and refoundation," the King's Advisor concluded by emphatically stating that "Culture is a global public good that connects us all and makes us grow when we are concerned with sharing it with the largest number without ever compromising its irrefragability and historical, spiritual, philosophical, and moral legacy."
For her part, ISADAC Director Latifa Ahrar underscored the importance of this meeting led by Azoulay, an eminent political figure, a committed man in Morocco and abroad advocating for the promotion of dialogue between civilizations and religions and for the renaissance of Mogador. She described him as a man of dialogue and listening and an advocate for interculturality within civil society.
ISADAC has significantly contributed to the Moroccan cultural scene by providing qualified professionals in the fields of interpretation, scenography, and cultural animation, she indicated.
