The meeting, which took place in the presence of Morocco's Ambassador to Germany, Zohour Alaoui, provided an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations in the agricultural sector, with a view to translating the "excellent relations" existing between the two countries into joint actions in the agricultural sector, Sadiki told the press at the end of the meeting, held on the sidelines of the Berlin International Green Week.
Morocco and Côte d'Ivoire, both of which have made great strides in agricultural development, have many common factors and good practices to share, noted the Minister, adding that the two parties had agreed to exchange views on the water issue, which is now a central topic of international political debate and dialogue.
Morocco, which experiences repeated droughts, has developed techniques and technologies for mobilizing and saving water through the modernization of irrigation systems, said the government official, noting that "the Moroccan experience can benefit Côte d'Ivoire in terms of transferring water from areas where there is a surplus to those requiring continuous irrigation".
"We also agreed to put our reciprocal institutions at the service of research topics of common interest, with a view in particular to boosting relations between Moroccan and Ivorian businessmen around agricultural products and value chains", he added.
For his part, Adjoumani indicated that this meeting was an opportunity to exchange views on subjects affecting the agricultural sector and to explore the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in this field.
Welcoming the fraternal relations between the two countries, the Ivorian minister pointed out that Morocco is far ahead in water management and represents a model for Côte d'Ivoire.
He added that the Kingdom, through the OCP Group, plays an important role in supporting Ivorian farmers.
