The two tournaments, which run until Saturday, are organized by the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG) and the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association, under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.
Now a fixture on the European Tour of golf since 2010, this year's Hassan II Trophy will bring together 66 champions of the American PGA Tour, who won more than 200 events on this circuit, including 11 major tournaments.
This year's event will be marked by the participation of former winners, including Scotland's Colin Montgomerie (1997) and Spain's Santiago Luna, tournament record-holder with three victories (1998, 2002 and 2003).
The Lalla Meryem Cup, which has attracted the world's best female golfers since its creation in 1993, will once again bring together the European elite of women's golf.
Among the 108 participants, 5 Moroccan golfers are expected to take part in this competition, including Ines Laklalech, winner of the Lacoste Ladies Open de France 2022, Maha Haddioui, who has been playing on the LET for 11 years, and last year's sensation Sofia Cherif Essakali, who, at just 13 years of age, made the cut, setting a new precociousness record.
