According to Al-Jaabari, “the timing is particularly meaningful, coinciding with the fasting month of Ramadan and addressing the growing needs of the Palestinian people,” as he stated in a declaration to MAP.
This is not Morocco’s first humanitarian gesture towards the Palestinians. It reflects the enduring support of HM King Mohammed VI, who also presides over the Al-Quds Committee, for the Palestinian cause. The aid is part of a broader spectrum of Moroccan initiatives aimed at supporting the Palestinian people, including the deployment of a military medical-surgical field hospital in Gaza in 2018.
The aid arrives amidst challenging conditions, particularly in the northern and central regions of the Gaza Strip, where the population endures a severe blockade. “This initiative is expected to alleviate the suffering of the population at the onset of the blessed month of Ramadan,” Al-Jaabari noted.
Al-Jaabari further commanded Morocco’s steadfast position, both officially and among its populace, in supporting the Palestinian cause and defending the Palestinian people.
