Signed on the occasion of World Refugee Day by Yasmine Lahlou-Filali, Vice-President of the Noufissa Pharma 5 Foundation, François Reybet-Degat, UNHCR Representative in Morocco, and Abdellatif Maamri, Executive Director of the Moroccan Family Planning Association, this tripartite partnership agreement aims to strengthen the joint medical program between the UNHCR and the AMPF for the benefit of refugees.
It marks a significant step in the ongoing commitment of the three stakeholders to work together to create an inclusive and supportive environment to support refugee populations.
Under the terms of this partnership, which takes effect in 2024 and runs until 2026, the Noufissa Pharma 5 Foundation undertakes to donate medicines worth one million dirhams over three years for the benefit of refugees on Moroccan territory, as part of the joint health program between the AMPF and the UNHCR.
The first endowment was delivered by the Noufissa Pharma 5 Foundation to the AMPF, which is responsible for distributing it to its Health Centers, in its capacity as implementing partner of the UNHCR Health component in Morocco.
This tripartite agreement follows on from the framework agreement signed on December 19, 2023 between the Noufissa Pharma 5 Foundation and UNHCR, covering the years 2024/2025/2026, and aimed at strengthening joint efforts to facilitate refugees' access to medicines, education and economic and social integration in Morocco.
Indeed, the partnership between the Noufissa Foundation and UNHCR, which dates back to 2019, has already laid the groundwork for this strengthened collaboration.
By focusing on access to healthcare, education and employment, this partnership aims to offer refugees the opportunities they need to rebuild their lives and make a positive contribution to the Moroccan society that welcomes them.
According to the signatories, this joint commitment is in line with the principles of solidarity and inclusion advocated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI towards refugees.
