Recognized as a premier event for discovering francophone film treasures, this year’s festival will feature a retrospective of iconic Moroccan films. The lineup includes the first-ever Moroccan feature film "Fils Maudit" by Mohamed Ousfour, among many others. These details were revealed during a press conference at the Arab World Institute (IMA).
Highlighting Morocco’s significant role in global cinema, the organizers noted that the country continues to inspire international film productions. In total, over sixty films will be showcased during this 17th edition, including ten in competition and around fifteen premieres.
Adding to the rich and varied festival program, a series of photographs by Moroccan photographer and videographer Leila Alaoui (1982-2016) will be exhibited in collaboration with the IMA.
Established in 2008 and dedicated to francophone cinema, the FFA is held annually in Angoulême, Charente, in southwestern France. Each year, at the end of summer, it marks a key event in France’s cultural calendar.
