In a message on the occasion of the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Sovereign's accession to the Throne of His glorious Ancestors, Ajay Banga underlined that Morocco under HM the King’s leadership launched a series of big projects that allowed to sharply reduce poverty, speed up electrification and increase life expectancy.
He further commended His Majesty the King's leadership and commitment to deliver better quality of life for citizens, stressing that the New Development Model launched by the Sovereign will contribute to boosting employment and enhancing the inclusiveness of the Moroccan society.
The President of the World Bank Group also hailed the resilience and strength displayed by the Moroccan people in the face of adversity from the pandemic of Covid-19 to the Al Haouz earthquake, adding that these lessons of life are remembered as a source of inspiration.
Furthermore, Ajay Banga welcomed the long-standing partnership between the international financial institution and Morocco, recalling that the two parties celebrated the 65th anniversary of this cooperative relationship during the Annual Meetings of the Bank and the International Monetary Fund that the Kingdom hosted last October in Marrakech.
He also expressed the World Bank's commitment to supporting the Kingdom in the "next phase" of the development process underway, in line with His Majesty the King’s forward-looking vision.
