In a statement to MAP, Ounghir said that this was an important founding speech that set out a roadmap for water policy to tackle Morocco's water resources crisis.
He added that HM the King had emphasized the importance of water conservation and the need to develop an integrated national strategy to tackle the problems of drought, water scarcity and climate change.

Ounghir, who is also a researcher in the history of international relations, emphasized that the royal speech called for an update of all national water strategies, adding that the royal speech invited all players to take the initiative in finding innovative solutions to all these problems.
