During the meeting, the two parties welcomed the deep-rooted relations between Morocco and Cameroon and their growing dynamism, thanks to the strong will of both countries' leaders to develop these ties in various fields, according to a press release from the Chamber of Councillors.
On this occasion, Hanine reviewed the major political and democratic changes as well as displays of renewed development the Kingdom is experiencing under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
The official then emphasized the role of parliament, the House of Councillors in particular, in light of the 2011 Constitution, as a legislative authority with broad prerogatives in terms of financial control and evaluation of public policies in positive interaction with the rest of the constitutional institutions, the press release added.
The meeting was attended by President of the Morocco-Cameroon Friendship Group Younes Mellal and Secretary General of the House of Councillors El Assad Zerouali.
