Speaking during a press conference following the Government Council meeting, the Moroccan official indicated that the government is keeping a close eye on the situation of the Moroccan community in Lebanon through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates. He noted that, in this regard, a crisis unit has been established at the Kingdom's embassy in Beirut.
This unit's mission is to maintain direct contact with members of the Moroccan community, provide them with guidance, and ensure their safety, he explained, adding that a number of citizens and their families have already left Lebanon and no injuries have been reported among them.
The government, through the relevant ministry, pays special attention to the situation of the Moroccan community in conflict or disaster zones in general by establishing a permanent crisis unit within the ministry’s organizational structure, he concluded.
