These accidents were mainly due to drivers' inattention, failure to give right of way, pedestrians’ inattention, failure to keep a safe distance and speeding, DGSN pointed out on Tuesday in a press release.
With regard to the control and repression of traffic offenses, the security services drew up 47,342 tickets, 8,464 reports submitted to the public prosecutor's office, while 38,878 transactional fines were collected, amounting to over 8.6 million dirhams, according to the same source.
The DGSN also reported the impoundment of 4,616 vehicles, the withdrawal of 8,464 driving licenses and the immobilization of 278 vehicles.
