The talks, attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita, highlighted the exemplary friendship between Morocco and Guinea, further strengthened by HM King Mohammed VI's visits to Guinea in 2014 and 2017, according to a statement from the Head of Government’s Office.

On this occasion, Akhannouch reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment, under the High Royal Directives, to supporting Guinea in achieving sustainable and inclusive economic and social development, particularly in agriculture, fisheries, healthcare, and industry. He praised the close cooperation with Guinea, founded on the bonds of brotherhood, friendship, and solidarity between the two nations.

The talks also highlighted Guinea’s steadfast support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its southern provinces, marked by the opening of a consulate general in Dakhla in January 2020, reflecting Guinea’s consistent stance on the fabricated regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

The two officials further discussed mechanisms to enhance bilateral economic relations within the framework of a model South-South cooperation strategy in Africa, underscoring HM the King's visit to several friendly countries on the continent, and following the signing of a joint statement between the governments of the two countries in May 2023 in Rabat, and the holding of the 7th session of the Morocco-Guinea Joint Commission in July 2023 in Dakhla.
