During the celebration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in Concepción in Chile (500 km south of Santiago), in the presence of a delegation from the Agency, the leaders stated that the Agency’s support improves the living conditions of the Palestinians and supports their resistance.
“The Agency’s support to Palestine is very interesting,” Gustavo Diban, President of the Arab Center in Concepción, told MAP, expressing his wish to “maintain more ties with the Agency, build bridges and cooperate” for the benefit of the Palestinians.
“We can lead common projects,” he said, adding that members of the Arab Center, through the “Belen 2000 Foundation,” support primary schools in the West Bank so that Palestinians can stay in their land.
For his part, priest Alex Aedo said he was “pleasantly surprised” by the work of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency in Palestine, praising HM the King's commitment to defending the Holy City.
“Every aid and contribution is crucial” to help the Palestinians resist, he added.
For his part, Emilio Geni Samur, President of the Chilean-Arab Cultural and Educational Corporation, described Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency’s contribution to Palestinians as “very important.”
The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Chile, Vera Baboun, said that the Agency’s support was at the heart of actions to preserve the Palestinian identity.
“We appreciate and thank His Majesty the King for the work carried out by the Agency,” she said, expressing her pleasure at welcoming a delegation of Muslims and Christians from the Holy City at the invitation of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency.
A delegation from the Agency, led by its Managing Director, Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, is visiting Chile to take part in the “Moroccan Week in Chile,” held from November 28 to December 8.
On this occasion, Echarkaoui stressed that the Agency's work is guided by the values of peace and tolerance, and by the defense of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
“The Agency will keep carrying out its projects for the benefit of the Palestinians, thanks to the constant support of the Kingdom of Morocco,” Echarkaoui added, recalling that HM King Mohammed VI, who never ceases to support the Palestinian cause, “directly supervises the work of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency,” which has made it possible to deploy this year, on three occasions, significant aid delivered to displaced Palestinian families and to hospitals and health centers in the West Bank and Gaza.
