“The France-Moroccan partnership, in all its dimensions, is entering a new golden age”, affirmed Braun-Pivet, speaking at the House of Representatives, during the closing seminar of the Moroccan-European Union institutional twinning project.
According to Braun-Pivet, this “lively and demanding relationship, founded on mutual respect, solidarity and trust”, took on a whole new dimension in 2024, thanks to the Declaration on the “Reinforced Exceptional Partnership” inked last October by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President of French Republic Emmanuel Macron, during his state visit to the Kingdom.
She hailed “the remarkable engagement of His Majesty the King in order to make building this new reinforced exceptional partnership possible”.
This partnership, she continued, is based on all the multifaceted, living cooperation, already weaving a unique relationship between Morocco and France.
“To bring all this rich and essential cooperation to life, I deeply believe in the importance of partnership between our parliamentary assemblies,” the President of the French National Assembly stated.
“I would therefore like to salute the success of the European twinning program which has brought us together with Morocco' House of Representatives, the Belgian Chamber of Representatives and the Czech Chamber of Deputies, as well as the contributions of the Greek, Hungarian, Italian and Portuguese parliaments”, she noted, expressing in the same breath gratitude to the EU Delegation for initiating and supporting this project.
Building on a substantial budget, this twinning of excellence has accompanied the modernization of the House of Representatives by focusing on two aspects, Braun-Pivet added. These involve the optimization of management and human resources tools, in addition to the improvement of legislative monitoring to better assess the concrete impact of passed laws on the daily lives of Moroccans.
