This policy is grounded in a dedication to collective action and the values of solidarity and constructive cooperation, dialogue, peace and coexistence throughout the world. Its goal is to contribute to mainitining security, fostering the peaceful settlement of conflicts, respecting States' sovereignty and territorial integrity and ensuring non-interference in their internal affairs, Ould Errachid stressed at the opening of the Congress of the Future.
The Kingdom is also strongly committed to other global issues and challenges, which transcend traditional borders and local specificities, including climate change, food security and migration, he noted during the meeting organized on the initiative of the two Houses of Morocco's Parliament, in collaboration with the "Future Encounters Foundation", and the Chilean Chamber of Deputies and Senate.
Aware of the scale of these challenges, Morocco, he maintained, has adopted a proactive approach based on development strategies, capable of enhancing efforts aimed at ensuring energy sovereignty and accelerating the transition to a green economy, in line with the objectives of the " 2050 Long-Term Low-Carbon strategy", submitted by the Kingdom to the United Nations at the end of 2021.
In this respect, the Upper House Speaker recalled the Kingdom's leading role, under the wise leadership of the Sovereign, in launching and supporting a series of development and solidarity initiatives aimed at developing various partnerships, particularly in the Arab, African, Latin American and Caribbean regions.
Referring to the issue of migration, Ould Errachid said that managing this phenomenon, which has taken on alarming dimensions, requires a humanitarian vision that reconciles national sovereignty and migrants' rights, adding that Morocco is a “model” to follow in this area.
The Congress of the Future is a forum to debate the challenges and issues on the international agenda and the future of humanity. It has become a platform for elaborating ideas that can support future decisions, and for developing practical solutions to the major transformations facing the world's societies in the future.
