The design of the E-Police portal is based on a technological approach aimed at bringing together all the services provided by the National Security on a single platform, the DGSN said in a press release, stressing that the portal is characterized by ease of use and includes the latest technologies and integrated digital solutions that have been adopted in the field of e-administration, such as rapid response to requests, remote verification of identity and protection of personal and user data.
DGSN made sure that digitizing the criminal record was the first administrative service to be integrated into the new E-Police digital portal, the same source added, noting that starting December 20, citizens will be able to request the administrative document immediately after verifying their identity using the “trusted third party” platform to verify their identity and the “digital identity” portal designed by DGSN.
In practice, the new service, integrated into the E-Police portal, will allow citizens to remotely request a copy of their criminal record using their national identity card, before accomplishing the necessary steps through the same portal, DGSN added.
A digital notification will be sent afterwards to the concerned citizen to inform them of the document’s availability, thus inviting them to go to the nearest ID registration center of their choice to collect the document, within a shorter timeframe than before.
The same source added that other than the criminal record service, the E-Police service has been linked to all DGSN digital services, including the appointment request service to obtain the digital national identity card, the police competitive examination registration service, and other services.
The launch of the E-Police portal is the first phase in an ongoing process of digitization of the police public service, with future phases of this service project expected to include the integration and digitization of applications for other administrative documents such as the certificate of residence and the application to renew the electronic national identity card in on single digital platform.
DGSN intends to progressively activate the portal and expand its services, in order to ensure a proximity police, on the one hand, and to simplify and optimize services for citizens, on the other hand, the press release concluded.
