The meeting highlighted the significant progress achieved by the Kingdom to consolidate its position regionally and internationally, while thwarting the maneuvers hatched by opponents of its territorial integrity.
Participants underlined Morocco's constant and strategic efforts, which have led to successive recognitions of the Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara by several major powers, notably the United States and a growing number of European countries.
Organized by the Institute of Political, Legal and Social Sciences (ISPJS) of Mundiapolis University in partnership with the Moroccan Association of Political Science, the conference also highlighted Morocco's historical and strategic links with its African depth.
Participants discussed the Morocco's return to the African Union, the strategic Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline project, and the Sovereign's Atlantic Initiative, which aims to give Sahel countries access to the Atlantic Ocean.
In a statement to MAP, ISPJS Dean Ali Lahrichi highlighted the achievements of the Kingdom's foreign policy in favor of the Moroccan Sahara, the fruit of His Majesty the King's clear-sighted vision.
According to him, the meeting provided an opportunity to present the historical and legal underpinnings of the legitimate Moroccan position from an academic perspective, while also carrying out an in-depth analysis of the issue to enable students to further consolidate their knowledge of the Moroccan Sahara cause.
