The visit aimed to foster an exchange of expertise and experiences between the two countries in critical areas such as counter-terrorism strategies, managing terrorism-related risks, and rehabilitating extremists during and after incarceration.
The Moroccan delegation comprised senior officials from the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor's Office, attorneys general from the appellate courts of Rabat and Fes, and liaison judges stationed at the embassies of both countries in Rabat and Paris.
This visit offered an opportunity to highlight significant judicial reforms undertaken in Morocco, notably the independence of the judiciary and the powers granted to the President of the Public Prosecutor's Office in implementing criminal policy and supervising public prosecutors, while allowing the the delegation to share Morocco's extensive experience in addressing terrorism-related issues and the efforts of various national institutions engaged in this field.
The delegation presented Morocco’s robust legal framework against terrorism, along with innovative initiatives such as the "Moussalaha" (Reconciliation) program, which impressed the French counterparts for its preventive and social dimensions, particularly in reintegrating individuals convicted of terrorism-related crimes.
This working visit underscored the strong judicial ties between Morocco and France and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to addressing shared challenges, particularly in the global fight against terrorism.
