During this second evening, graced by the presence of Advisor to HM the King and Founding President of the Essaouira-Mogador Association André Azoulay, as well as other prominent Moroccan and foreign personalities, music lovers were treated to two eclectic concerts, beautifully performed by exceptional talents from Morocco and abroad.
The evening kicked off with the “Jazz'In” show, featuring Morocco's Abdel Wahab on piano, Spain's Luis Salto on double bass and Burkina Faso's “Robin des Bois” on drums, who masterfully fused Afro-jazzy rhythms, Andalusian melodies and modern harmonies, creating a unique and immersive musical experience.
This first enchanting musical score set the tone for the rest of the evening, marked by the performance of the Saiko trio, made up of Nguyen Lee (guitar), Mieko Miazaki (koto) and Prahbhu Edouard (tabla), who offered music lovers a refined fusion of contemporary jazz and Asian traditions, whose sounds resonated with intensity and elegance in a packed hall.
To round off this memorable evening, the stage welcomed local and foreign artists and amateurs as part of the “Midnight Jam Sessions”, offering a spontaneous moment of improvisation where talents mingled to captivate the public with a unique musical moment, reflecting the singularity of the Windy City.
Initiated by the Essaouira-Mogador Association, the 8th “Jazz under the Argan Tree” reinforces the Windy City's position as a cultural crossroads and living crucible of artistic innovation, where heritage reinvents itself to better meet the future.
