The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF), held on January 21-24 with the participation of Talbi El Alami, the Lower House said in a press release.
The talks between the two parties focused on the historic ties linking the two countries and the major projects conducted by the Kingdom of Morocco under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, particularly in agricultural development, renewable energies, food security, and addressing climate change, the press release said.
They also stressed the importance of bilateral parliamentary relations and the means to advance them under full respect for the sovereignty of States and non-interference in their internal affairs, the same source added.
During this meeting, the two Speakers covered the importance of strengthening bilateral parliamentary relations and intensifying continuous communication and dialogue between the parliaments of the two countries. They also called for exchanging visits, experiences, and parliamentary expertise and sharing them, in addition to coordinating within the various regional and international parliamentary fora, following the cooperation agreement concluded by the two institutions on December 18, 2017.
Meanwhile, the Lower House Speaker’s meeting with Vietnam’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development underscored the importance of this sector in the economic fabric of both countries and stressed the vitality of sharing experiences and expertise on the matter.
In this regard, Talbi El Alami shed light on the structural projects launched by the Kingdom of Morocco in agriculture, renewable energies, combating climate change, and ensuring food and water security. He also outlined the prerogatives of the House of Representatives concerning this dynamism in legislation, control, and public policy evaluation, as per the 2011 Constitution.
The meeting was also attended by Latifa Lablih as a representative of the Network of Women Parliamentarians at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie, in addition to His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Jamale Chouaibi, and the Deputy Head of Mission of the Kingdom of Morocco to Hanoi, Ahmed Ait Aissa.
