Speaking at a training session organized by the CNDH in partnership with the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), Bouayach emphasized that the various actions carried out on the ground reflect national commitments to implementing international human rights standards.
This training session, the first of its kind under this partnership, provides an opportunity for participants to exchange views on the challenges related to migrant protection and explore best practices in line with national and international standards, she noted.
Bouayach also reminded attendees that the National Immigration and Asylum Strategy serves as a framework for collaboration among various stakeholders, stressing the need to support "the revision of Law 02-03 concerning the entry and stay of foreigners in Morocco, the ratification of the asylum bill, and the consideration of new developments in human rights related to migration and asylum management."
For his part, Ahmed Ait Taleb from the DGSN praised the joint efforts of the CNDH and the DGSN to enhance the capabilities of national security personnel in areas related to combating irregular immigration.
Ait Taleb emphasized that this cooperation aims to strengthen the protection of migrant rights and freedoms, in accordance with the recommendations of the UN Committee on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families as well as the provisions of the partnership agreement signed between the CNDH and DGSN on September 14, 2022, aimed at reinforcing human rights in the exercise of police duties.
He also added that this training session, involving 20 officers responsible for law enforcement, is part of the implementation of the Kingdom's commitments to train national security officials in combating irregular immigration.
