During the meeting, the two sides discussed means of further strengthening trade relations and boosting economic and commercial partnerships.
In a statement to the press, Hejira said that through the meeting “we reviewed the trade figures and the actions to be undertaken to reduce Morocco's trade deficit.
He noted the Egyptian side's strong willingness to field a mission for Moroccan exporters to Egypt, with a view to forging partnerships to boost exports, led by the automotive sector which has seen a decline over the recent period.
“In the context of these trade exchanges, other products will be prioritized to strengthen Moroccan exports to Egypt”, Hejira asserted.
For his part, Al-Khatib stressed that the meeting focused on trade exchanges and ways of further reinforcing them to achieve an equilibrium in the balance of trade between the two countries.
“We discussed concrete actions and measures to be implemented, which will be followed up by both parties”, he pointed out.
On this occasion, he welcomed the historic relations between the two brotherly countries, under the Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi, noting that a new page in bilateral relations is opening today.
He added that “Moroccan products are not banned, and the Egyptian market remains open to Moroccan exports”.
