Earlier in the day, police in the city of Oujda had apprehended two brothers in flagrante delicto trafficking drugs, hallucinogenic medical tablets and others used for illegal abortions, security sources said.
The suspects were in possession of 1,423 medical tablets of various types and three kilograms of chira, the same source said, adding that they were subjected to judicial investigation procedures, carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office.
According to the same source, the investigations carried out in this case led to the arrest, in Nador, of the third individual for his presumed involvement in this criminal activity. The search operation led to the seizure of 1,160 additional medical tablets, in addition to a car suspected of having been used to facilitate the commission of these criminal acts.
The third suspect was subjected to a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, in order to elucidate the circumstances, the ins and outs of this case, as well as to determine the possible ramifications of this case on a national and international scale.
