Snowfall, Heavy Rains & Wind Gusts Expected in Several Provinces - Weather Alert

Rabat - Snowfall, heavy rains, sometimes thunderous, and wind gusts with duststorms are expected on Friday and Saturday in several provinces of Morocco according to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).

Snowfall (10-25 cm) is expected in the higher altitudes exceeding 1,600 meters, from Friday at 5:40 PM to Saturday at midday, in the provinces of Ifrane, Boulemane, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, Midelt, Khenifra, and Taroudant, according to a DGM's orange level alert.

In addition, heavy rains, sometimes with thunderstorms (25-40mm), are expected from Friday at 5:40 PM to midnight in the provinces of Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Ouezzane, Nouaceur, El Jadida, Sidi Bennour, Settat, Casablanca, Berrechid, Taroudant, and Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane.

The provinces of Nador, El Hoceima, Berkane, Driouch, Taourirt, and Oujda are also concerned, from Friday at 5:40 PM to Saturday at 7:00 PM.

Moreover, strong wind gusts with duststorms (70-85 km/h) are expected from Friday at 5:40 PM to 9:00 PM, in the provinces of Figuig, Jerada, Errachidia, Ouarzazate, Zagora, Boulemane, Taourirt, and Tinghir.
