Speaking at a press conference in Casablanca, Lahrour pointed out that in accordance with the measures provided by law, the Public Prosecution's office had referred the minor to the juvenile judge, who decided to place her in a child protection center, deeming the allegations regarding the young girl's incarceration prior to her transfer to the child protection center as "erroneous."
"Many falsehoods have been spread on this matter", he underlined, pointing out that the minor, aged around 15, was brought before the judge in accordance with the legal procedures in force for minors.
The young girl was presented before the Public Prosecution's office last Saturday in the presence of her legal guardian, interrogated about the acts attributed to her, before being referred to the juvenile judge, who listened to her and decided to place her in a child protection center to immune her from these criminal acts.
Furthermore, Lahrour stated that the phone number used to threaten the complainant—who, along with her family, was victim to defamation, threats, and extortion via instant messaging applications (WhatsApp)—was installed on the minor's mobile she acquired, and activated several SIM cards before sending PIN codes to her uncles, who is currently on the run in Canada.
Lahrour concluded that the investigation established that the minor assisted the main suspect in various criminal activities, adding that she was being used in these criminal acts.
