Slated for completion in 2029, the terminal will have a capacity of 20 million passengers per year and is a key part of Morocco’s “Airports 2030” strategy, ONDA said in a press release.
Designed in an “H” shape and inspired by Atlantic waves, the project is expected to enhance Casablanca’s role as a key transit point, particularly for Royal Air Maroc’s expansion plans.
The terminal will be linked to Morocco’s high-speed rail network, connecting Kenitra to Marrakech, in a move to streamline airport access and strengthen intermodal transport.
Similar to major international hubs like Paris-Charles de Gaulle and London-Heathrow, the integration is expected to cut travel times and improve connectivity for domestic and international passengers.
The expansion will also include a new parallel runway measuring 3,700 meters, along with a control tower standing 42 meters high, additional taxiways, and extended aircraft parking.
Inside, the terminal will offer a redesigned passenger experience, featuring a green oasis, VIP lounges, a large duty-free area, retail spaces, and an on-site hotel overlooking the runways.
ONDA has already launched the earthworks tender, with further construction contracts set to be issued in the coming months.
