These accidents were mainly due to drivers' inattention, pedestrians’ inadvertence, failure to give priority, failure to keep a safe distance, and speeding, DGSN pointed out in a press release.
With regard to the control and repression of traffic offenses, the security services drew up 45,160 tickets, 8,706 reports submitted to the public prosecutor's office, while 36,454 transactional fines were collected, amounting to 7,9 million dirhams, according to the same source.
The DGSN also reported the impoundment of 4,998 vehicles, the withdrawal of 8,706 driving licences and the immobilization of 432 vehicles.
