"We are exploring ways to enhance our strong partnership and foster closer people-to-people ties," Suica told MAP following her meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, on the sidelines of an international forum on the future of the Mediterranean, organized as part of Spain’s presidency of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (PA-UfM).
The European Commissioner praised the “exemplary” cooperation between Morocco and the EU, particularly on migration, emphasizing that Rabat and Brussels share common interests in managing migration flows.
"We have much in common when it comes to immigration, and we will work together to enrich discussions on the New Pact for the Mediterranean," she stated.
The International Forum on the Future of the Mediterranean, running from April 2 to 4 in Granada, brings together parliamentary leaders from all PA-UfM member states to tackle pressing regional issues.
Discussions focus on four key themes: migratory movements, climate change, youth employment, and gender equality.
