The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 3rd GITEX Africa (April 14-16), by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tehraoui, and CDG Director-General Khalid Safir.
This partnership aims to bolster institutional collaboration in healthcare and social protection by supporting structuring projects, accelerating digital transformation and improving healthcare services’ governance.
Among the main initiatives planned is the creation of a “Digital Lab” within the Ministry, with the support of CDG. This structure will constitute a strategic platform dedicated to technological innovation in the healthcare sector. Its mission will be to design advanced digital solutions and optimize the performance of the national healthcare system.
The Digital Lab will also contribute to the establishment of a national e-health innovation ecosystem, aimed at strengthening the sector's competitiveness and resilience in the face of future challenges.
Through this agreement, the two institutions reaffirm their mutual commitment to supporting public policies with strong social and economic impact.
They intend to contribute actively to the modernization and sustainable transformation of the national healthcare system, in line with the Kingdom's strategic priorities under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Speaking to the press, Tehraoui underlined the importance of this alliance, describing the partnership as “extremely useful and full of real synergistic value.”
He added that this agreement would enable us to move away from the traditional framework and adopt more agile methods, borrowed from the digital world, in order to best support the transformations underway.
For his part, CDG Director-General Khalid Safir emphasized that this agreement aims to offer “innovative solutions to the needs of the national healthcare system”.
He also emphasized the importance of this partnership in establishing efficient management of digital health data, while guaranteeing a high level of personal data protection.
