On this occasion, HRH Princess Lalla Malika visited the stands showing the main areas of intervention of the Moroccan Red Crescent and inaugurated a photo exhibition on the works of young people and their integration into the various interventions of the national society.
Her Royal Highness handed certificates of recognition and merit to 13 volunteers from CRM and diplomas to successful candidates of the health training centers of the Moroccan Red Crescent.
In a speech on this occasion, HRH Princess Lalla Malika underscored that choosing "youth and action" as a theme of this year’s celebration of the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day aims to highlight the contribution of the youthful in humanitarian and social action.
This choice, HRH the Princess went on, falls within the framework of the momentum characterizing the debate on the youth’s role, aspirations and expectations.
In this respect, HRH Princess Lalla Malika paid praised the efforts undertaken by young volunteers who enabled the CRM to fully discharge its mission and increased its influence.
In the same vein, HRH the Princess voiced satisfaction regarding the youth’s key role in achieving the organisation’s plans within the framework of a participatory approach involving the population, authorities and the civil society.
HRH Princess Lalla Malika praised the self-sacrifice and assiduity evinced by 500 young volunteers who helped in receiving the Moroccans repatriated from Libya.
HRH the Princess also lauded the youth for their efforts in terms of offering training, first aid and their help in implementing the CRM social programmes.
On the same occasion, HRH Princess Lalla Malika launched the medical screening operation benefiting the visually impaired and handed glasses to 8 students from the Jazouli school in Rabat.
HRH the Princess also handed 40 wheelchairs, test kits on training and awareness raising on collective health, kits and education material to sensitize to the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and HIV, training kits of basic first aid and emergency intervention benefiting of a number of provincial committees of the Moroccan Red Crescent (MRC).
Afterwards, HRH Princess Lalla Malika presided over the signing of a framework partnership agreement between the CRM and the Cheikh Zaid university hospital and a partnership agreement between the CRM and the national committee for the prevention of road accidents (CNPAC).
Earlier, the CRM national project and programme coordinator Mohamed Souali presented the results of the CRM activities for 2011 and its 2012 action plan.
HRH Princess Lalla Malika also chaired a reception offered by HM King Mohammed VI, which was attended by members of the government and other prominent figures.
