The Sovereign expressed to Mr Abbas and to the Palestinian people his warm congratulations, voicing satisfaction with this international recognition "which is the culmination of your tremendous efforts and your ongoing initiatives designed to recover all looted national rights."
HM the King expressed his pride and his high regard for that extra step which met with unprecedented support from the international community and which is the fruit of the bold struggle of the Palestinian people.
He welcomed the wise, positive position expressed by the Palestinian president at the UN, on 29 November 2012, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the UN vote on a resolution on the partition of Palestine, "a position calling for giving a new impetus to meaningful Palestinian-Israeli negotiations within the vision of two states living side by side in peace and security."
The Sovereign reasserted to President Mahmoud Morocco's consistent position in support of the Palestinian people's struggle to uphold their just cause and fulfill their legitimate aspirations, especially the establishment of their independent, geographically sustainable State, based on the 1967 borders, and viable at all levels, with Al Quds as its capital.
HM the King reaffirmed to the valiant people of Al Auds, in his capacity as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, his continued support and firm determination to preserve the religious monuments and civilizational identity of their city, considering its special status in the hearts of all Muslims.
