Part of a participatory approach to ensure strong involvement of local NGOs, these projects aim to reinforce the capacity of local actors, consolidate the principles of social integration and solidarity, and contribute to youth development.
The Sovereign inaugurated a rehabilitation center for disabled persons, an indoor sports hall and a sports club built for a total sum of 22 million dirhams (2.5 million dollars).
Build in the Salmia neighborhood, the rehabilitation center for the disabled includes facilities for physiotherapy, psychotherapy, psycho-mobility, occupational therapy, literacy, and manual works, an IT room, and workshops for fitting, casting, mechanics and assembly.
As part of the INDH program to fight poverty and marginalization, the new rehabilitation and prosthetics center aims to help target population, to help them overcome their disabilities, and provide them with the necessary medical assistance to facilitate their social integration.
The sports hall, located in the Sbata district includes a games complex with locker rooms for players, coaches and referees. The sports hall and club are to serve as a platform for training and organization of sports activities with the aim to scout for new talent among the younger generations in the field of sport.
These projects aspire to strengthen sports infrastructure in the region, develop the artistic skills of people with special needs, fight crime, and provide residents in neighboring suburbs with quality services. They also reflect HM the King’s commitment to goals of the National Initiative for Human Development, by personally monitoring the implementation and progress of its programs
