Inauguration of Center for Children with Autism in Bouskoura: consolidated royal approach for comprehensive human development
Casablanca - His Majesty King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, inaugurated on Thursday in Bouskoura (Nouaceur Province), "Ashourouk" Care Center for Children with Autism, a consolidation of the royal approach for comprehensive human development and a fulfilment of the will of the sovereign to provide these children with special needs with an optimal social and educational integration.
Part of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), the new center perfectly falls in line with the Royal speech of May 18, 2005, in which the Monarch noted that among the themes highlighted by this initiative was assisting vulnerable people and those with special needs, preserving their dignity, and preventing them from falling into either deviance, isolation, or extreme poverty.
This social and educational facility aims to assist target groups, to support them and their families to overcome disability, and provide children with autism with the necessary medical assistance to facilitate their social integration.
"Ashourouk" Care Center for Children with Autism includes rooms for diagnostics, physiotherapy, Psycho-pedagogical Assessment, speech therapy, autonomy, relaxation, gymnastics, music therapy as well as teaching classes, handicrafts, painting and carpentry workshops, a therapeutic pool, and a playground.
This Center accommodates up to 100 children and was built for a sum of 14.6 million dirhams, allocated by the INDH funds (6.50 million dirhams), the "SOS Autism" Association and its partners (6.62 million dirhams), and the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity (1560000 dirhams).
This project is expected to strengthen the social infrastructure at the Great Casablanca region, develop the skills of the target social group, and promote quality local services for suburbs dwellers. The center also reflects the importance HM the King attaches to INDH projects, by personally ensuring the follow-up and monitoring of their implementation.
On this occasion, His Majesty the King, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, posed for a souvenir photo with members of the Association "SOS Autism" and professionals of "Ashourouk" Center.
