Upon his arrival, His Royal Highness was greeted by economy minister Mohamed Boussaid, communication minister, government minister Mustapha El Khalfi, tourism minister Lahcen Haddad, culture minister Mohammed Amine Sbihi, wali of Marrakech-Tensift-El Haouz region Abdeslam Bikrate and president of Marrakech-Tensift-El Haouz region Ahmed Touizi.

 HRH Prince Moulay Rachid was also welcomed by vice-president of the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation Faiçal Laaraichi, Nour-Eddine Sail, also vice-president of the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation, Festival's director Mélita Toscan du Plantier, Festival's artistic  director Bruno Barde, President's advisor at the festival's foundation Azzedine Benmoussa, and secretary general of the festival Saloua Zouiten.

 His Royal Highness was also greeted by members of the festival's jury, chaired by French actress Isabelle Hupert, foreign super stars attending the event and officials from partner national and foreign institutions.

 This 14th edition of the Marrakech festival, held under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, opened on Friday evening at the city's convention center. The opening ceremony was marked by a vibrant tribute paid to Egyptian cinema legend Adel Imam.
