"Vegetable production is abundant and all measures are taken to ensure the supply of fruits and vegetables for markets," said the federation in a statement.
"Despite the additional production costs generated by this period of confinement, producers are showing patriotism and undertaking, as usual, to honor their commitments to the consumer", said the FIFEL.
The federation recommended that consumers avoid overstocking fruits and vegetables and only purchase to meet their immediate needs, while reassuring them that the supply of these products exceeds the demand.
It also recalled that the export of fruits and vegetables is continuing both by trucks and ships without restriction, while taking the precautions deemed essential for the current lockdown.
