Tetouan: Legal and Administrative Proceedings Launched Against a Doctor who Tested Positive for Covid-19 and Did Not Comply with Precautionary Measures

Rabat - An investigation was opened by Tetouan's prosecutor office and an administrative proceeding was launched by the General Inspectorate of the Ministry of Health in order to determine the circumstances and responsibilities into the case of a doctor in Tetouan who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) and did not comply with the precautionary measures taken to stop the spread of this pandemic.

After returning from a stay abroad, the man continued to consult patients and even performed two surgeries, without the provincial delegate of the Ministry of Health notifying him of the rules and protocol that he had to follow, said Sunday a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The two investigations revealed a breach of the deontological and ethical rules of the doctor by putting the life of others in danger and usurpation of qualification, knowing that he is a general practitioner and not a obstetrician-gynecologist as he pretends, lack of responsibility and negligence of the provincial delegate and false information, according to the same source.

It was decided to close the clinic and the medical office along with legal and administrative proceedings launched to take necessary measures against the provincial health delegate and to continue the judicial investigation.
